Using the Glossary
Using the Glossary
The Glossary is your team's shared business vocabulary. Define terms and abbreviations the way your organization uses them — for example FOB, crop year, or an internal location code — so Huck interprets questions the same way your team does.
Where to find it
- Open Catalog in the app sidebar.
- Select the Glossary tab.
You can also go directly to Glossary from Catalog using the Glossary tab at the top of the page.
If you don't see Catalog or Glossary, ask your organization admin about Catalog access.
What a glossary term includes
Each term has:
- Term — the word or abbreviation
- Definition — what it means for your business
- Category — an optional group to keep related terms together
What you can do
- Browse and search — find terms with search or jump by letter
- Add a term — most Catalog users can add new terms with Add Term
- Suggest a change — if you can't edit directly, open a term and suggest an updated definition or category
- Edit or delete — organization admins and owners can edit or remove company terms
Platform or shared terms managed by Huckleberry are view-only.
How Huck uses the Glossary
When you ask a question, Huck looks up glossary terms that match what you said and uses those definitions while answering. Clear, up-to-date definitions reduce confusion around company slang and industry shorthand.
Examples of useful terms:
- Pricing language (FOB, delivered, landed)
- Planning periods (crop year, season, pack week)
- Internal codes (DC names, brand shortcuts, program names)
Tips
- Prefer short, precise definitions over long essays.
- Define the meaning as your team uses it, even if industry usage varies.
- Add terms when someone has to correct Huck's interpretation more than once.
- Keep Catalog table descriptions and Glossary terms aligned — Catalog explains data; Glossary explains language.
